2006 Gala - A night in Monte Carlo

On September 23, 2006, Helping Austin held their annual gala benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas. This sold-out black tie affair was held at the Austin Children's Museum where over $15,000 was raised to help improve BBBS matching programs.

The evening's success is credited to several events including gourmet foods catered by McCormick and Schmick's Seafood Restaurant, Flemings Steakhouse and Wine Bar, and Lucy's Cakes, while Grey Goose, Budweiser, and Austin's own Sweet Leaf sponsored all beverages.

Guests were entertained by a hosted casino and live music from April Dawn, Ray Primm and Everyday People. The evening concluded with a live auction consisting of work from local artisans and donors like Southwest Airlines, Pure Austin, Jet Blue Airways, and Benold's Jewelers as well as over 60 local businesses.
